The reason for the disparity is simple.

The writers are commenting on two different things.

A doesn't like the STYLE of Joel's writing.

B likes the CONTENT of what Joel has to say.

A was prepared to "put up" with the style as long as he liked the content. For some reason the content of the resume article wasn't to his liking so the style drove him nuts.

B thought the content was great and presumably he likes the style too.
