need sharepoint help
My apologies for this post. I've looked at all the sharepoint sites (i think), and newsgroups, and haven't seen anyone with this problem.
I need to set up the sharepoint web part templates with visual studio. I've downloaded the templates. But when I run the installer program, the installer says that it can't install the templates without visual studio .net installed. But, I have visual studio .net installed. I can't figure out why the web part template installer can't find visual studio.
can I edit the setup configuration file to point to visual studio?
any other ideas?
also, i think philo said he works on sharepoint now. if so, PLEASE consider creating a forum similar to this one for sharepoint issues. the existing forums SUCK.

My immediate reaction is "what version of VS.Net are you using?" because the Sharepoint web parts templates need 2003...
If you're using 2003, drop me an email and I'll see what I can do.
As for forums, there are a few SPS newsgroups, though I've only just started browsing them so I can't comment on how useful they may be. Also note the SPS SDK is available as a free download from MSDN.
