Today's Dilbert

http://www.dilbert.com

How many times has your boss done this to you? I used to work for a guy who was petrified of telling the client "no", no matter how crazy the request was or how much money we would lose. Every time I told the client it would cost <xx> for the changes, he would just call my boss, who immediately agree to the changes for free.

Oh the nightmares.

Just yesterday.  Oh, and the day before that, too.  And before that.

Actually, this happens every day.  And his boss does it to him.  &c.  I wish the MBAs would go and start doing something useful.  Like jumping off a cliff.

I think everyone should have a "Dilbert Cam" so that they can share these moments with the rest of us. If only so the rest of us can breate a sigh of relief that that it han't happened to us today (yet).

This happens because the changes look so simple, from the client's perspective.

The other day a client told me the application that I took months to develop didn't do anything it was supposed to. It turned out he meant the company logo was the wrong color! I am not kidding!

No Body - be careful, or you'll get blank on your ass about filling landfills with toxic waste.

MBA's should be taken to a recycling center where half their brain can be removed and they can be put into use as sales engineers.

I could use the help. :)

It's been enlarged and framed for our tech lead here.  That's exactly the kind of thing the new boss is doing.

Nobody here is a fan of "stretch-goals", I see...

In this economy a "stretch goal" results in nothing more than lack of sleep.

Not only has that exact thing happened to me, I have had an employer field a call from a client during which they blamed me for everything going wrong even in areas waaaay outside my responsibility.  I quit the next day.
