Chinese programmer for language learning partner Hey, I'm Thomas , now live in Guangzhou , China. 31 years old, an experienced software engineer and project manager. I'm fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese. I'm good at reading and writting in English, but do not speak english well. I guess you probably though it was a good idea, but maybe it's not panning out the way you'd think. You'll have to probably try somewhere else, like international pen pals or something.
Dumb question
It's Chinese new year soon. Take a trip to Hong Kong and force yourself to only speak English. Most of the shop assistants here speak English at some level. Try not to be 'lazy' and revert to Cantonese. Come to HK once a month.
