talk with former manager

Continuing from my previous thread of old company hiring, I talkd with my manager, and he said I was welcome to re apply. I am thinking of applying again, what do other people think?

Reapply.  Unless you think you wouldn't be happy there - which you should have worked out by now.  The worst that can happen is that you don't get the job.

Don't treat the interview as a joke, and try to show you have been doing something constructive in the meantime.

Why would you not re-apply if you were invited to?  This is your problem, your issue and your decision.  It's not the decision of anyone on JOS, it's not the decision of your mom or dad or your dog or your aunt patty from guam.  It's YOURS.  What's so damn hard about re-applying?

It's very foolish to post this here unless you are looking for reassurance or you are simply trolling.  I can see why you are anon, you must be ashamed of yourself for having done something that you are not sharing with us.  Own up to the truth and move on with your life.  And don't post this crap here.

Personally, I would not reapply to the company who let me go since the company would have the upper hand in negotiations. I cannot see any way you will get any bargaining power in this situation. Clearly they didn’t think of you before they re-posted the job.

Nameless, take a chill pill dude.  Anon is just feeling a little insecure and is seeking a little advice from his fellow developers.  From your tone, it is obvious you have your shi*t together all the time and never need to seek advice from your peers .

Anon, I think from this post and your previous post that the consensus of the JOS group is that you should re-apply.
Don't take it personal if they dont hire you back, for whatever reason.  At that point, you must be ready to be a big boy/girl and be ready to move on...

I am going to try and get a day's worth of workload back from my previous job, but clearly this comment is correct, the bargaining power is not on my side.  Unless I can show them something new/cool that they can't live without.  hehe.
