Purchasing a Domain name from 3rd party
Hi,
We are in the process of purchasing a domain name from a third-party, and would like to have a contract drawn up to facilitate the transfer. Does anyone have advice on how to go about handling this sort of situation? Also, would anyone happen to know of lawyers in the New Jersey/New York area who deal with issues like this?
Thanks,

There is a free sample contract available @

Disclaimer: I am not a lawyer, just a code grunt and I have no opinions on the usability, legality or validity of the contract. I have not used this contract myself not do I know anyone who has! Use this at your own risk.

Some of the domain sellers like greatdomains.com offer an escrow service for 3rd party transfers, though I haven't used any myself.

[Nothing personal. I see this several times per day]
Funny, how serious we take the other profession. We consider ourselves mere code grunts and use disclaimers as IANAL etc.
Isn't it time that we as professional developers introduce HINAD (= he is not a developer)? Our emancipation is complete when laywer-types and PHBs write IANAD.
Professional opinions are not exclusive to laywers and bosses.
