Software for Forecasting

I am just wondering if there are any small program for cash flow forecast purposes.

I have to make out orders to various suppliers and payment required prior deliveries and I want a tool to check these payments and expedite Accounts Dept to settle.

I have been getting into trouble on following up and without proper forecast Accounts the remittance are delayed.

Some of the payments are on progress stages - base on the contracts or purchase Orders.

Can any posters point me in the right direction? I will be paying for this personally so if it can be something cheap that will be great :)

If you have office, Excel seems the logical choice.  Can't beat the price and I'd expect Goal Seek, Scenario and Solver are what you are after.  They aren't installed by default, IIRC, but Joel would know. <g>

Oops, didn't see the cheap part. This will cost you but unlike Excel this is a financial application. With Excel you have to find the right template (which may be your best inexpensive solution) or buy some add ons. Excel on it's own knows nothing about finance. Projected Financials knows about all your line items (income, balance & cash flow) and knows how to project them.
