RSS and the Ars Digita Post

Why does this entry get repeatedly marked as "modified" and appear in my RSS reader (Bloglines), even though it looks the same every time I visit:

http://www.joelonsoftware.com/items/2003/06/19.html

FWIW, only one other post behaves like that and it's the "looking for translators" one, every time Joel crosses off a language.

Has anyone else come across this? Any ideas?

Gotta be your aggregator.  I'm demoing newsgator and not seeing the same thing.

Perhaps, but I'm seeing it in bloglines as well.

I don't see it. I use intraVnews

Works for me with Feed Demon.  Though I notice that Joel's  feeds have no pubDate or guid,  this makes it difficult for the aggregators to identify posts uniquely.

Joel,  any chance of getting guid's added?  Something simple like:

<guid permalink="true">[body of <link>]</guid>

Probably just a bug with Bloglines.  I sent the company an email regarding a problem I had (buggy support for "<body>" tags) and got a quick and friendly response promising they'd get it fixed.  I like the service, but got the feeling they're still working out the kinks.  Try sending them a message.

Oh yes, I've had great responsiveness too, with my questions and feedback.

It's rare that I'll come across a feed that doesn't work perfectly with Bloglines.

And that's why I was curious about this odd bug.

FWIW, if anyone's still reading this thread, the problem has been solved.
