.NET No-Touch Deployment

I was just wondering if anyone has built, is building or knows about the .NET No-Touch Deployment architecture?

Could someone explain how this technology works and what problems you have run into?

I'd like to create a .NET Win Form Application that auto updates from a Web Server at startup.

I saw this:

I don't know if you've seen this article yet, but it looks appropriate:

No-Touch Deployment in the .NET Framework

I stumbled across this today during lunch while reading the "Patterns and Practices" section on MSDN and remembered your post.

It's the "Application Updater Block". From just skimming the article, it appears to contain a code block for .NET applications so that they can be updated via remote server.

We've used the MS App Updater block mentioned above for several applications (internal) and it's worked wonderfully for us. Once you get it setup, you just drop your app's new version into a folder on a user-accessible folder (file-share, web-folder, whatever) and the client's get updated. Definitely check it out.
