Programmer hourly rates in the United States?
average hourly salaries?
Around USD$700 per hour
...divided by ten perhaps? :-)
Divided by 100, you mean?
If somebody needs me to be a code monkey (i.e. straight coding job, no consulting) I charge between $100 - $150 depending on the client.
slightly lower than "flipping specialist" at BK. Great American dream eh?

$58.50-$70 for a vb/oracle coder. Mid level skills. I have not had a problem find people at this rate. They are not very well rounded but can knock out the code.
$70ph = Moving to America.
Flippin' hell. You guys serious? Overhere (Holland) mid level coders would be on 2500-3000 EUR per month.
I billed to a client for around $70/hr about three years ago. (I worked for a consulting body shop). My take was $35/hr, and I still had to pay income taxes and medical insurance out of that (medical insurance alone was over $500/mo., if memory serves). So don't freak out about that rate. It's a nice living, but a hard way to get rich... :)
$150/hr, doing everything (consulting, design, programming)
$60/hr, but I live in a cheap state (Nevada) with no state income tax.
Rates depend on if the consultant is homo sapian or primate. See:
