Job hunting sites

What sites to people recommend to find jobs?  I have tried monster and hotjobs of course.  I have searched craigslist.  Specifically, I am looking for programming jobs involving audio near San Francisco.  Bay Area is okay, but not outside.

Speaking of search engine results, if anyone can find a good search to find all the audio companies that are near San Francisco that would be good.

I have tried the Yahoo Regional site, not very complete.  I have had a hard time coming up with a google search that works.  "Audio software" lists all the companies I may want to work for, but includes all the ones in Europe.  But "San Francisco Audio Software" or "Bay Area audio software" do not return any companies really.

So there's a challenge to all you master searchers saying that google is going downhill.

Are you willing to move to Boston? I might know of something...

Maybe there are not many companies in your area that do audio software? It isn't the most common. Although I would be a bit surprised, I would think the bay area would have them.

You may want to get out some of the game development site (gamasutra comes to mind) as this is the most common vertical to find them operating in.

I'm not sure I would be willing to move, but obviously it depends on what the opportunity is... I could move if I wanted to.

I would be interested to hear more information about it, you can e-mail as well.

Another good "game job" site is, strangely enough,

There are lots of audio programming specialists in this industry these days.

Thanks for the tips... I have checked gamasutra before.  I actually already work for a game company doing audio for consoles.  However I'm not really a gamer, and it doesn't interest me that much, plus the hours are unbearable.

In games audio definitely gets the short end of the stick.  Or whatever that saying is.  And it sort of makes sense, since audio doesn't really sell games.  Therefore audio is of a very low priority, even though they say they want "world class audio".  Everything takes CPU and memory, so it is much better to have some cool camera special effect than some extra sound effects.

I would like to work for a company that focuses on audio products only.  Like Digidesign, which makes Pro Tools, is around here in Daly City.  I'm looking for more companies like that around.  I know Bias is in Petaluma but that's a bit too far from me.

Also regarding the locations, there are basically audio software companies in four locations:

1) Bay Area
2) LA Area
3) Boston (Creative, Cakewalk)
4) Europe, mainly Germany

That's pretty much it!
