Whoa, scary.

"There was also the real possibility of crew error, and on Sunday, the head of the corporation that builds and operates the Soyuz spacecraft, Yuriy Semyonov, suggested that “one of the Americans” had pushed the backup-mode activation button."

You know, I'm starting to think I'd actually pay money to work for a guy who didn't start blamemongering as soon as things went wrong.

I would assume 'pilot' error should be relatively easy to identify here - there should be fairly decisive logging to show if (a) the backup system was triggered by humans and (b) if the guidance system was confused before it was triggered.

On a completely different note....Did ya notice the big Soviet era red star on the helicopter in the photo? After the collapse of the Soviet Union, didn't they change the symbol that they put on the military equipment? Or am I just crazy and they still use the red star? I just haven't seen one in ages and it evoked images from my childhood during the 70's and 80's when they were the Evil Empire.

Ok, back on topic...

Not PC.
