By the way, Apple is not always the "my lips are sealed" character that is painted in this article.
It took them 10 years from announcing a next generation OS to be available "real soon now", to the product actually hitting the shelves. Also, an anouncements of a new model from Apple in those days usualy meant you could almost order the product. Actual delivery times were often 6 months or more, an eternity in the hardware business.
