ATL COM Object Code Generation

Short question ... complicated answer. Visio hypes code generation techniques, but i've never been as successful in generating ATL objects from Visio as I have w/ VB COM classes.

Anyone have samples available online or links for more information?

Rational rose has been trying to do this for years.

My Take: Use UML for white board discussions.  If you want to generate ATL code, use the Wizards in MS Visual C++ .

Yah, I'm afraid of that ... I've had great success generating/maintaining entire COM libraries (in VB) all from UML ... but it looks like in the mangled, MACRO and sometimes MFC world of ATL ... it's just not going to fly?

Does anyone else find it interesting that MS doesn't include it's own data type packages (MFC, .NET, etc.) within Visio?
