C# - oracle - long data type

I am returning a long/raw datatype from oracle (oledb )  and placing it into a string. I am only getting the first 100 chars back from the database. Using the debugger I can see the data is truncated to 100 bytes prior to stuffing it in the string. Any Ideas? I can't change the data type on the database to varchar since it is a system table.

It happened to me once reading a SQLServer image BLOB field.

I remember I had to use ExecuteReader and actually loop over a SqlDataReader to get all the chunks. If you use an ExecuteScalar or a DataSet you only get the first bytes.

Hope it helps
