Programming VB.NET by Francesco Balena is the best reference book I've found.  It's quite readable, and is one of the fattest books I've ever seen.

If you're making the transition from VB6, I find Brian Bischof's THE .NET LANGUAGES: A QUICK TRANSLATION GUIDE (Apress) to be the book I reach for most often - comparative syntax for VB6, VB.NET, and C#. Much better than the O'Reilly title on the same subject.

Also CODENOTES FOR VB.NET (Random House) is a good slim introduction.

I second the Ballena book recommendation. The only topic
that's missing (at least in my opinion ) is the COM Interop,
specifically creating VB.Net COM components. Otherwise,
the b ook is more than adequate.
