Office 11

So what you do guys think about Office 11? The ability to link doc's, and adding live data to Excel files via XML, sounds pretty cool.

Anyone who's actually seen Office 11 is covered under NDA. Which means it's way too soon to get a serious discussion going. Keep in mind that all of the things you see written about it right now are either (1) published with Microsoft's explicit permission, which means you have to worry about spin or (2) NDA violations, which means you have to decide how much you want to trust the evaluation of someone who can't be bothered to live up to a simple contract.

As an Office developer, I'd say that things look promising from the early PR -- but EVERY version of Office, even complete dogs like Office 95, has looked promising from the early PR.

Also, if you read the PR for XDocs carefully, you'll see that there's been no decision announced about whether it will be a part of Office or just an "Office Family Member" -- the latter designation includes programs like Publisher, Project, MapPoint, and Data Analyzer, which do not ship in the Office box.
