Multi Icon Tree view

Hey, ya'll. I'm looking into implementing a multi icon tree view. So far, since .Net doesn't support owner draw, which I was hoping for, I'm kinda stuck. I don't have time to write a custom control, and so I have one of two options:

1. Step back to non .Net Tree views, which, from what I've read, do support owner draw and try to get it to import into a windows form.

2. Buy someone's and use it.

Has anyone else run into these limitations with the tree view control? Any other suggestions before I jump off the cliff with one of these ideas? Thanks!

Here's one thought: Can you dynamically combine your multiple icons into one icon elsewhere in the program, then present them to TreeView (in the ImageList or whatever) as if they were one icon?  Perhaps that would take less time than a custom control...

I'm not clear on what you mean by a "multi icon" treeview.  Could you clarify?

FWIW, there's a thread here about doing owner-drawn painting for treenodes in .Net.  (It involves the NM_CUSTOMDRAW message.)
