directory structure and ftp

Well I have a requirement whose needs are to transfer contents from the client system to the server. Now the user has to choose the directory/files he needs to upload. Further this needs to be browser based. So, how does one
go about achiveing this.

Use the good old HTML <INPUT type="file"> control. This will allow the user to browse their local disk for a file.

And with <input type='file' runat='server' id='myFile'> you don't need to use ftp, it uses HTTP post. You get the file using myFile.PostedFile.

Whats up if want to do the next in  ASP.NET PAGE?
1) Let the user to choose SEVERAL FILES from her hard disk, the names of the files are acumulated in a list box.
2) When he/her have all the files he wants, make a click in a button, and send ALL THE FILES AT SAME TIME to A SERVER THAT IS NOT THE WEB SERVER.

This make you think? im getting crazy
