Welcome to Delphi Questions

Joel on Software has some incredibly smart readers. In a couple of years it has grown from nothing to 8 million page views a year. And the quality of the conversation in the discussion groups is second to none.

In that spirit, as a temporary experiment, I've opened Delphi Questions - a forum for asking questions, and getting answers, about any aspect of programming for Borland Delphi.

Here are the ground rules:

* Each topic should be a question about Delphi programming.

* Free speech, but stay on topic. Questions which aren't about Delphi programming will be deleted by the moderator.

* Replies should be answers to the question. Don't drift off into discussions of the inspirational family television drama "Seventh Heaven," even if there's nowhere else where you can raise the fact that while every other family member has a nice biblical name, Lucy could only be named after Lucifer, because she is Satan. It's fascinating but NOT ABOUT DELPHI so keep it to yourself.

* There is no FAQ. If you ask a question that has been asked before, that is OK and deliberately allowed. No question is too trivial or too "newbie".

* The answer "RTFM" is a waste of time, but it's OK to link to the answer somewhere else. If you type a URL in this forum with a space before and after, it automatically becomes a working hyperlink.

"Joel on Software has some incredibly smart readers"

Aparently bored of being on the recieving end of all the praise in the forums, Joel is shaking things up and innovating. Lateral thinking suggests that there is no reason why a writer can not or should not praise his readers.

Yeah but he didn't say anything about the POSTERS! ;-)

Interesting, maybe he's trying to give us a hint?
