CVS log message

Is it possible to have post the cvs log message to the bug being resolved?

Not trivially, although I can see why you'd want that!

The trouble is that adding a message to the bug would require knowing who was doing the checkin, which would require some form of communication from the cvs command line to FogBUGZ as to who you are in FogBUGZ, which is a whole can o' worms.

Our system is usually to put everything in the CVS log, because it's trivial to get to it from the automatic link in FogBUGZ. In our own database you'll often see "resolved-fixed" without much explanation, but you see the little CVS links and you can get the explanation of how it was fixed there. And in fact half the time the only thing in the CVS log is "fixed bug 1234" :)

I'd be pretty happy with having a "CVS" user add a message containing just the checkin comment.  The checkin links are almost useless --- we rarely do more than two or three checkins to CVS a day (per developer, I mean) and often fix several bugs per checkin.
