Couple of things

What really bothers me, is that there's no way to get
to the properties window once a picture has been
inserted. It has become second nature to me to
right-click on an object and select 'properties' from the
popup menu. Can't do that in CD.

It would really help, if I could see the preview of a picture
in the file open dialog or at least in the "insert picture"
window. Imagine setting all the properties and then
discovering that you selected a wrong image.

View -> Color palette. When I click on the first color, I
get a message telling me that I can't change the default
color. if I can't change it, why is it even there?

Yep, we know about the picture properties thing -- it's high on our list of priorities for the next release.

As for the colors -- it's there mainly so that you know it's there :) We don't let you change it because we don't want people to accidentally delete "black" and not know how to get it back.

Ok, but may I suggest that you put the "dead end" sign
on the door and not on the brick wall behind that door?
ie: replace the command button with a label that says
something like "default color - cannot be changed".
