XP System Restore changes cty file
Don't know if this has been covered already, but I was working on a site on Sunday. At some point the system created a restore point.
On Monday I was messing around with some wifi settings and managed to mess it up, so I did a system restore back to the previous day.
I opened the cty file I had been working on later that night and half my work had gone. After a short panic I wondered if the restore had done something to the file, so I undid the restore, opened the cty file and all my work was back!
So how to get around this...
I zipped up the cty file then re-restored. The unzipped cty file again 'lost' half of its contents, but the zipped one was protected.
So really what I wanna know is, how come the system restore affects the cty file? Does XP restore access databases?
I have Office XP installed if that makes any difference.

I've noticed this also using System Restore in XP; it does change .cty files back to the state they were in at the restore point. I don't have any insights into this, but can confirm your experience.
