Multilingual design issue...

Recently I converted a site to be bilingual.  CD creates two subdirectories, one for each language.  That's fine.  The problem is that the images I have in the project also get duplicated.  That's not fine.  Most, if not all, of the images are common between the two sites.  I don't have a lot of space to deal with and this duplication is taking away precious drive space.

Has anyone dealt with this situation.  Any suggestions on ways around it?  Or your solution to the problem.  As far as I can see I'll have to rip out the images from my project and hardcode the images and paths instead of letting CD handle that.  A variable or two will help out here but still, a bit of work for me to update all the templates and articles etc.

I can't really think of a good solution, off the top of my head.

If you control the web server and the web server is unix, you might try setting it up so that one of the image folders is just a link to the second one (using ln or ln -s). Since their contents are the same this will halve your disk space.
