Publish Order?

I used to have 2 publish locations

1. My Desktop (HTML Version)
2. My Server (HTML Version)

It would publish to the server & then copy the files to my desktop.

Now I have 4 publish locations

1. My Desktop (HTML Version)
2. My Server (HTML Version)
3. My Server (Printable Version)
4. My Desktop (Printable Version)

Now it seems it publishes 3 or more times rather than the twice I would expect.

I've listed my publish locations in order (excluding preview) and I always highlight them all from top to bottom when selecting publish locations.

Not that this is a critical problem, I'm just curious about why it goes through another iteration.

When publishing, CityDesk sorts publish locations using it's own logic, no matter what order the publish locations are listed in. The internal sort logic is designed to minimize steps, so if you publish the exact same thing to two places it is generated once and copied twice.

Huh. I'll may more attention next time, but I think it was generating 3 times even though I'm only using 2 template families.

Reproduced it again. I thought maybe some of my settings were different in terms of audience / template / language, but they're exactly the same... well, two versions for my two templates, so it should publish twice, but it publishes 4 times.
