How-to video (CD and anchors)

Among the stuff we distributed through the mailing list and feel it might be of value to forum readers is a streaming video tutorial on how to use anchors in CityDesk.

Note that you need the free Microsoft Windows Media Player 9 to watch the video tutorial.

Nice video and nice solution to a common problem – BUT in reality this is a workaround. The facility to make named anchors ought to be built into CD itself. If HMTL "scares" a non programmer curly brackets etc. almost certainly will seem scary too. But while we wait for the best solution (read CD ver. x.x) this video, and the idea behind, is really useful.

The actual anchor <a name="yadayada"> is hard to do in another way (without using HTML) I guess. But the link to it can be done simply by typing "#yadayada" in the normal "Insert link" dialog.

The only drawback is that if you open the link dialog again it will show the whole path of the current preview folder in front of the string you entered. But as long as you don't open it again (or remove the path before clicking insert again) it'll work fine.
