FTP was doing great and then ...

With SP2, FTP errors didn't terminate the publish process.  That is, I haven't had a single FTP problem since I upgraded.

But now I do:
FTP Progess box
Status: Request Complete
Message 550 DELE: Couldn't get file status for /home.html

FTP error box:
Couldn't delete file. The server returned extended information.

What I did was to eliminate the splash page.  I renamed it from "index" to "old splash page" and gave it a "never publish after" date, then renamed the article from "home" to "index"

Then I published and got the above FTP termination error.

I CuteFTPed and deleted the entire site, published "all files," and got the same FTP error.  I used FTP to delted the directories CityDesk had created in the failed FTP session, exited CityDesk, reopened the site, published "all files" again and it worked.

I went through this cycle twice on this site today.  The first time I just deleted an article.  When I published, I had to go through the very same process as the one above.

Earthlink is the host.  I thought this was fixed.

did you quit CD when you deleted the files? I suspect CD keeps some caching information (citydesk.xml)... ?

Did you try to compress the database, quit and try it again?

550 = access denied or No such file.

I did a "compact" in the process.  The breakthrough both times was closing and reopening CityDesk.
