Where oh where are Template sites

I've just started using CityDesk and dind myself a little surprised that there is nothing but the very basic learning template provided. So I'm asking for tips to either commercial or free sites where one could find templates. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks for your responses. I have found and downloaded a few templates that I would like to experiment with... forgive my absolute newbie status here - it's laughable, I know - but I have just spent about two hours trying to figure out how to get one of these templates into my copy of CityDesk.

I've been looking for an "Import emplate" or "Insert Template" or even a "Save Template" command. I'd even be happy to find a way to drag and drop the template in. I do know that I can open template in CityDesk by doubleclicking it, but haven't been able to figure out how to save the template into CityDesk.

Smarter folks have their sites up and running in this kind of time....any help would be much appreciated...

Template, in this case, is probably a misleading term. Let me call them model site files. They are bare-bones sites where the structure of templates, variables, etc. have already been set up.

Two ways to go:

1. Start with the model site and add your own tweaks and content.

2. Open your site in one instance of CD and the model site in another instance of CD and copy-paste from one to the other.

Keep in mind that if you are copy-pasting articles, do it in html mode. It's a known issue that copy-pasting in Normal mode works erractically.

Drop the template and back away from the CityDesk!

Remember a cty file is a MS Access DB file in drag, any changes you make are permanent. Make a copy of the template before 'doodling' with it and you'll always have the original :)

Have a look at the Back-Up procedure in the help file - it's NOT enabled by default, don't get caught.

Have fun.
