can I force my own html code?

I have an article, and want to control the exact format of the html.  Are there citydesk tags that will let me do that?

Two situations - one is a Netscape compatibility problem, and the other is a java applet.

Normal mode?

You can achieve this by working with articles in HTML mode..?

For each article CD remembers what mode (normal or HTML) you last used to edit that article (everyone else: I'm not hallucinating about this feature am I?). This also applies to the templates you use and any variables you create will not affect any HTML you insert.

The only place (I think) where you have to be careful is in the extra fields: sidebar, about the author, extra1, extra2 etc. A couple of times I've wanted more control of formatting so edited the content for this field in another editor first, previewed just this in a browser and then copied and pasted from the browser into the sidebar field.

Hope that helps
