A simpler Clock answer.

The answer posted to Clock seems overly complicated.  A bumble bee like answer is much better.  (From bumblebee puzzle: http://www.techinterview.org/Puzzles/fog0000000077.html )

It takes twelve hours for the hour hand to go all the way around.  In that time the minutes hand has gone around twelve times.  12 - 1 = passes each other 11 times.
