tristate area recruiter recommendations?

Hi,

Would anyone be able to recommend technical management recruiters they have used successfully in the recent past? I'm looking for a software project/engineering management job in the tristate area (NY, NJ, CT). Have tried applying through the usual monster/hotjobs/careerbuilder sites without much luck and am hoping to use a few good recruiters in addition to those avenues.

Thanks.

I always recommend Grady Levkov; everyone I know who has dealt with them on either side (as a candidate or an employer) has been very happy.

I used John Easton at Omni since 1994 (but not recently -- I'm not in NY anymore).  I've been placed by Omni and used them to hire, and in both cases, I have no complaints.  That is not true for the dozen or so other recruiters I have used, which were not nearly as good (and in many cases -- very bad).

The last phone number I have is (212) 683-7800

I can also vouch for John Easton.

One of the few recruiters that don't make you feel like you need to shower after speaking to him.

Didn't see this earlier, but may as well post his info if anyone is still interested.  I've dealt with several of the Omni folks and have been happy on both ends of the hiring process.  There were able to get me several good interviews during this bad economy, and several of my current company's recent hires have come from them, even though we get resumes from several different recruiters.

This past year, I have been a graduate student. I finish this month. I had spent the entire summer trying to find a job, and got no responses. Google was in fact the only company which even bothered to send me a rejection letter. (Email, actually)

Then I came across this thread and submitted my resume to the aforementioned recruiters. Peter Isaacs at Grady Levkov (212-925-0900 x106 / peter at gradylevkov.com) did great work for me; I think he is stuck in a time warp to 1998, because he somehow he was in touch with fantastic positions available at top-notch companies. I ended up with the "problem" of having to decide between multiple attractive offers. The whole process lasted two weeks.

Neither Peter nor anyone else at G-L asked me to write this; I am just so pleased with and grateful for their service that I wanted to add my testimonial.
