The maximum length is 64, not counting prefix and suffix.

It's the longest alphabetic domain name possible. I have had an email account with them for a few months now.

Most email forms don't accept submissions that long though... it's kind of funny.

I'm surprised the longest isn't German, they're well known for long words. According to something I read the longest word is DONAUDAMPFSCHIFFAHRTSELEKTRIZITAETENHAUPTBETRIEBSWERKBAUUNTERBEAMTENGESELLSCHAFT (80 letters), "the club for subordinate officials of the head office management of the Danube steamboat electrical services (name of a pre-war club in Vienna)," according to 1996 Guinness. (http://members.aol.com/gulfhigh2/words11.html) Actually I'm sure I heard of one which was longer (83 letters sticks in my mind, but may be untrue) and means the cat of a captain of a ship on the Donau or some such thing.

Those Germans. Such cunning linguists. And with tongue breakers like that are you really surprised?

German - language of sex. French - language of seduction. English - language of marriage.

You get what you ask for.

I used to work for Network Solutions, and happen to know that there are many domains tied for longest. zzz(etc)zzz.com comes last alphabetically; who can tell me which domain comes first?
