JavaScript

This is a question I've want an answer to

Can Java Script be harmful?

I sometimes hear about system admins that turns off JavaScript in their browsers, but I had have a hard time finding out if JS can be harmful.
Sure It can do annoing things, and can get your system crash(loops) but never anything serious.

Can anyone help me with this question?

Welcome back to earth. I hope your space travel went well.
Tell me, how was Mars? I mean, it seems clear to me you spent some time there.

Yes, as soon as IE implemented a custom Javascript command called ".setHomepage".

One person's annoying is another's harmful.  Imagine you're the sys admin who has to explain to non-tech savvy people why their homepage has been changed and how to change it back and then again the next day and then again across the entire corporate network and ... definitely harmful to you getting any real work done.

There was a web-page you could visit which would delete files from your hard-drive using IE's JavaScript DOM.

Now it just ejects your CD drive...
