Look at any sites in the mirror

Just try this fantastic thing . Take any site for example:

www.google.com and
append .mirror.sytes.org to it.

So that it becomes www.google.com.mirror.sytes.org and watch the fun.

My god, to what extent do people go :)

Perhaps someody can explain to me why the Saudi government blocks all of these links.

I would have thought you wouldn't be surprised by this sort of thing by now, Stephen.

<evil grin>
interesting idea. Write a Mozilla addon that appends the .mirror.syte.org to every url request, and have lot of fun with the interns at work.

That's fun. Things start to slow down if you do a Google -- I mean elgooG -- image search.

Actually, there is normally a reason, and I normally come across a block because of a communications error.

If you can get to any site through mirrors.sytes.org then they will have blocked it so you can't get in indirectly to other banned sites. They have done this with aol addresses, anonymizers and Google cache.

I've tried holding up the url on a bit of paper to the screen, but that doesn't seem to work.

Oddly enough, http://mirror.sytes.org.mirror.sytes.org won't return a mirror image.

Steven,

A friend  of a friend, is supposed to be running some service where you surf the web via email. Not sure how it works, but apparently his biggest customers are office types surfing porn sites.

Would a service like that also be blocked by the Saudis?

Apologies, that last post was directed at Stephen Jones and not Steven. My bad!

Dear Tapiwa,
I'm sure they would try and find some way of blocking it if they knew about it. If the service is free give me more details.
