FAST pdf viewer?

Does anyone know about a really fast PDF viewer? Something that pops up instantly instead of needing 10sec to load? I saw the PDF Preview tool on MacOS X today and I'd love to have something like it. Simple, fast and compatible...

Actually, Adobe Acrobat can be made to load very quickly, you just have to disable all the extensions.

You can use Adobe Reader Speedup to do this for you, available (according to the program documentation) at http://www.tnk-bootblock.co.uk .

It's done wonders for Acrobat Reader's startup times on my machines.

I'm intrigued as to the purpose of the extensions if disabling them makes no difference to our ability to read pdf's!

Well, there are a ton of them, and it might affect you, depending on how use Acrobat.  Which ones are turned on and off can be modified though.

In the download for the Speed Up program there is a text file called pluginhelp.txt that lists the plugins and what they do.

Fastest pdf viewer I've ever seen is xpdf http://www.foolabs.com/xpdf/ . Even on my old P2-400 it starts up in less than 1 sec with most documents.
