In search of stupidity (Pl/I)

From EWD898 (http://www.cs.utexas.edu/users/EWD/ewd08xx/EWD898.PDF):

I still remember the advertisement in Datamation,1 968, in which a smiling Susie Mayer announces in full colour that she has solved all her programming problems by switching to PL/I. It was only too foreseeable that, a few years later, poor Susie Mayer would smile no longer. Needless to say, the quest went on and in due time a next would-be stone was produced in the form...

I'm looking for this PL/I ad, and I'm running into walls. I believe it was an IBM ad, but the scan I saw was in black and white. Thing is, I can't seem to google the location. While I'm searching, does anyone here have a bookmark of the specific advertisment or a picture on their hard drives?

I'd ask on the PL/I sites, but that just seems rude. Perhaps as a last resort.

You should ask on the PL/I forums, Shawn.

Ada didn't take over the world as he, and almost every one else assumed including me; but he was spot on with:

"The major attraction ofthe modern elixirs is that they relieve their consumers from the obligation of being precise by presenting an interface too fuzzy to be precise in"

Who's Susie Mayer?

Never mind who she is, what the heck is everyone talking about?

I'll guess I'll take this to the PL/I forums, Li-fan Chen...

I thought I'd give this a shot, at least. You never know where the old time mainframers lurk...
