Try Apache with Apache-ASP
(http://www.apache-asp.org/)

Hope this helped.

I really wish I could see people's IP address when I see posts like this. Well, I guess Joel can.

Joel, tell us, is this more Geurilla Marketing or what?

btw, the first link, jdk's personal wep page turns up "There is no website configured at this address." So either your site is down or it's a pathetic attempt at making the first post look like it's from someone legitimately asking a question and somehow not associated with the second post.

It seems, based on my own cynicism, that the idea that basic human interactions are becoming more and more suspect as advertising is becoming more and more insidious is coming true.

"more and more suspect as advertising"

It doesn't read that way, but there's a verbal pause between "suspect" and "as" so it's not "suspect-as-advertising," but "suspect, as advertising."

JD has posted here many times before.  Not every post with a product URL or link to a website is stealth/guerilla marketing.

BTW who is this guerilla marketer marktaw?  I mean you have a link to a web page, you gotta be a marketer right?

Both of the first two posters have posted here before.

Calm down, Mark.

JD has posted here before, he used to have a weblog at that address.

The apache-asp.org link is for free-as-in-beer and free-as-in-freedom open-source software, so even if someone from that group posted it's not like they're hawking a product.

JD, Covelent's commercial version of Apache2 is said to run ASP.NET natively. Never used it, though.

Wouldn't that be kind of ironic, since this forum is here for advertising?

Second PWS. It does what it claims to do. And does it well.

I use Abyss Web Server (http://www.aprelium.com) as the web server and SeliSoft's ActiveHTML (http://www.selisoft.com) to process ASP.
This works fine for me as ActiveHTML compatibility with ASP 3.0 is almost perfect.

A pox on PWS... 'twas my experience that 99.9% of people actively using PWS hadn't installed a single update (security or otherwise) since NT went gold.  That led to more support calls, which led to MS costs rising, which leads to anger, which leads to hate, which leads to suffering.

I was glad to see it go.  If you need a website, either pay for a cheap webhost (webhost4life.com is mine, $4.95/mo for a plain-vanilla ASP account), or pony up for XP Pro.

For web hosting, I use the cool and refreshing Windows XP IIS. It makes me feel awake and alive. XP Pro, available at fine retailers near you!

You can try running IIS on XP Home (at your own risk)

Hello my fellow software engineers,

After years of software engineering, I found myself impotent. I think it had something to do with my nads so close to the monitor. Or else maybe just reading the 100,000th post about web servers just psychologically destroyed my libido. In any case, my girlfriend was not happy.

Let me tell you about an amazing natural supplement I discovered, only $39.99 per monht!!! yeah!

argh.

Hi All,

Sorry for replying late but I was bit busy with office work.

Thanks to Jordan, I found that Abyss Web server is perfect for my need. Thanks a ton once again!

And Mark, I think you got bit carried away as far as my weblog was concerned.

Actually my hosting provider told me that he will be moving my domain to another machine and will update DNS in a day or two. I just realised that he has updated the DNS and I haven't uploaded my blog scripts to new server. I will do it soon and then you should see http://jdk.phpkid.org up and running soon!

Btw, it's good to know that few people know that I have posted here ocassionaly with this blog address.

Regards,
JD
P.S.: Mark, email me if you still have any doubts! ;) :P

Sorry, your post just seemed like a nice setup for the second post. A quick question without much background, and the second post also was pretty quick.

:-)
