On what basis does google let you display ads?

Check this website http://084.us/

Click on one of the listings to see the ads. this site does not seem to be doing much. Really interesting. What if a million of these websites come up, will google's way of selling ads still be popular?

Why is it interesting?

And I think there already are a million of those sites. They don't seem at all interesting or even useful to me... I'm obviously missing something that you are seeing.

this looks like a linkfarm, which has their own banner ad + google's ad, thus hoping to up their rank so you hit their bogus site when looking for something useful.

i wonder if google gives a little extra preference to sites which display google ads?

According to Google's terms of service, you should be getting 2 million + hits a month in order to display their ads.

I doubt this site itself gets that many hits, so maybe they display these ads as part of a family of sites.

Mark, where are you getting the 2 million+ number? I see a lot of sites with AdSense that aren't getting that many hits. I also don't see that number in any of the AdSense FAQs or policies.

Yeah Mark,

I never saw any where that one needs to have minimum X number of hits per month to roll themselves in Ad Sense program.

Hmmm You know what, I can't substantiate it.

I saw an Ad Sense ad on a random page somewhere recently and researched it a tiny bit to see what the criteria were to join, which led me to WebmasterWorld where I saw a discussion about it. The thread was started by someone who had signed up but still hadn't been accepted and didn't know why. Later, someone pointed out the 2,000,000 hits requirement, and posted a link to somewhere on Google. Later in the thread I remember someone saying "Only 1,970,000 to go" (or some other large number with a 97 somewhere in it).

Maybe I and/or the person at Webmaster World was confused with the customized 'Premium Service' which requires more than 20 million page views a month.

Today, it seems, I cannot retrace my steps.

If you were to type in something like JavaScript ++ Quiz - this page shows up in the top 10.

We're using AdSense with somewhere less than 500K impressions a month.
