Bill Gate - A Former Mac Lover

http://www.osdata.com/kind/gates.htm

“To create a new standard, it takes something that’s not just a little bit different, it takes something that’s really new and really captures people’s imagination and the Macintosh, of all the machines I’ve ever seen, is the only one that meets that standard.” — Bill Gates

This is true, but everybody who has read a book about MS history or personal computers history knows that.

Bill Gates and MS helped the Macintosh platform A LOT in it's early years.

They wrote a lot of software for the Macintosh.

Bill Gates knew that GUIs are the future!

And as I mentioned in another thread, Bill Gates wrote a memo to Apple executives urging them to port the MacOS to the PC!  I guess when Apple elected not to, Gates decided MicroSoft would just have to do the GUI themselves.

Gates has always had a soft spot for the Mac, and not just because there were times every Mac sold yielded more MS profit than every PC sold. Microsoft has saved the Mac's butt a few times. Wether that was always just good bussiness sense is debatable.
