Anyone used VB 6 "compilers"?

Hi,

Saw these on the web.  Was wondering if anyone had experience with them.

Lets you statically link your DLLs and OCXs to an
executible.

Perhaps this will be old news once .net takes over the
windows world, but for us VB 6 programmers, this seems to have promise.

VB Power Wrapper

Scans a project and links all the files into one EXE.

I haven't used VB Power Wrapper, but  our company bought Thinstall a few months ago.  A little tricky to use, but it is the only way I know that allows you to use OCXs without registration.  pretty cool.  We haven't moved to .NET yet, but it seems to have a number of .NET specific features.  I saw on the mailing list it will soon be able to create .NET programs that run without the Framework installed - if that's true it will make our move to VB.NET a lot less painful.

WOW !!! That could make .net a much much more viable option for us.

Thanks for the tip!

Hmm... so it's almost like this program creates it's own little "MyApp.Framework".

So, it's taken us 25 years to get back to a nice, static-linked exe ? <g>
