SharpDevelop (coool!)

I recently became interested in .Net (C#). Installing a MSDN version of Visual Studio just overwhelmed me with options/features I didn't really like it.

now i have found http://www.icsharpcode.net/OpenSource/SD/Default.aspx it'
s a free/open source c# ide.

well, just check it out, it's nice and clean.  i just wanted to share that with you all.

Another thing you might want to check out for experimental use is C# Builder (http://www.borland.com/products/downloads/download_csharpbuilder.html). The personal edition is free for non-commercial use.

I was going to second the recommendation to at least look at C# Builder.

I was talking with Peter Coad at Tech-Ed in Dallas in June and we were discussing Borland's product line for .NET developers. I really had no idea that Borland was even in that market...

A while back I heard that the IntelliJ people were going to create a .NET IDE. Other people I know heard this too, but nobody seems to remember where. IntellIJ's site says nothing about it.

Does anyone remember hearing about this?
