Is the RIAA after you?

EFF has set up a dynamic subpoena search for the RIAA subpoenas - you can search by username or IP:

The back end is still catching up, so keep an eye on it.

I fail to see how this will help.. they are after everyone so just pick a number out of the hat and that will determine your court date.

Nothing like good old fashioned scare tactics.

I suppose this is kind of like proclaiming to the world that you are still a virgin, but I have never downloaded music via the Internet.

Now having said that, I really don't understand what the RIAA hopes to accomplish with all these digital piracy lawsuits.

Imo, Americans who want to download music without paying for it will simply switch to a P2P file sharing system where servers are located offshore and IPs are difficult to determine/obtain.

What about all of the people who live outside of the United States and download music?

Gosh! I don't know about you, but I don't think I'd buy another CD if I thought it was going to fund the RIAA in their legal pursuit of my ass.  That would be a lot like a turkey voting for Christmas.
