Creating Tabs in Oracle(Oracle 6i)

I am an intern and my first assignment is to create tabs in Oracle.

Unfortunately I don't know how to do it.  So if you know how to do this, please let me know.

My e-mail at work is    intern@ocjs.state.oh.us

Thanks

Check out orafaq and the oracle newsgroups.

Sounds like you're doing Oracle Forms development.  Search the web for answers, don't just ask people to do it for you.  I do the same, and started about 10 months ago in the same place you were, and now I'm rather skilled at it.  Its not hard, just start searching.

If you're using Forms, its simple.

There is a widget type called "Tabbed Panel" or some such name (dont have a developer install with me now, I'm writing this off a RH workstation now).

I would suggest you write a simple application, get the wizard to generate a data block and canvas for you, and then select and manually place a tabbed canvas onto the generated canvas. You can navigate from tab to tab (there are 3 tabs by default, you can add more either dynamically or with the designer), and add data blocks to each tab.

As the earlier poster said, its pretty simple. Reply to this post if you have any specific questions and I'll try and help you out
