I was looking for an alternativ to Macromedia Director, for crossplattform mediarich application development, and came across this baby:

Ive never heard of it, but it looks pretty good, and it runs on a load of OSs. Does anyone have experience with it? Is it good for interactive presentations and multimedia stuff?

I got asked for an opinion on Revolution last week as a cross platform (thanks MS for abducting XP), UI development.

Its not clear to me that you can roll novel controls in it, and you seem to be restricted to using their scripting language.  Apart from that the object model seems to be outside in, so that you create default handlers for events and then write custom ones for specific controls.

On the whole it didn't seem to be an useful platform.  If ever a decent IDE comes along for Mozilla/XUL I'll be very happy.

Am I the only one that thinks it is a very bad idea to let your server display file directories??
