Joel goes Dutch! = Commoditizing.

This is the perfect example of commoditizing.

Joel sets up website, writes good articles, lot of guys visit the website, word of mouth, e-mail, promotion, joel sells software, becomes millionaire( along with Micheal, et all).

Joel, send me an e-mail when you go for an IPO:-)

Being a native Dutch speaker, I'm not too excited about the translation. I think the English version is more fun to read and does a better job at bringing the point across.

I guess though that I shouldn't complain when I'm not doing any translations at all. :-)

He's commoditizing the readers.  This increases the number of compliments he gets.

Or do I misunderstand the strategy letter?

I think he's commoditizing advice on
programming, so no-one has to spend money on
books about User Interface Design. No, wait, that can't be right.....
