Sites like Joel

I love what Joel is doing with this site; even when i disagree there's something to talk about.  Not to steal steam from Joel, but I'm just curious what other personal blog sites like this do people read for insights into software development?  I know there's a lot of stuff out there dealing with usability, design, information architecture, and general technology.  But I am hard pressed to find any technical software engineering weblogs.  Any suggestions?  If not, Joel is filling a much need void.

There's Rik Heywood's site, pretty similar but smaller and more focused on game development.

I don't know if my site is really like Joel's but Joel on Software was part of the inspiration for me to create my own:

I wish there were twenty more sites like these, each written by somebody who is trying to run a small software company, each different in its own way.  The trick is in finding time to write.  I don't know how Joel does it.

In terms of design,

www.rik.org = www.joelonsoftware.com
www.positive-g.com (from the same person) = www.fogcreek.com

People either seem to love Dave Winer or hate him, but you might want to check out http://www.scripting.com .  He usually talks more about developing his particular company's products rather than software engineering in general, but he usually has something interesting to say.

I'm doing something at http://www.larkware.com/ , though I wouldn't say it's as good as Joel's stuff.

And my columns at MCP Magazine (which appear first in the Developer Central newsletter) are all about developer issues. http://lists.101com.com/NLS/pages/main.asp?NL=mcpmag&o=developer for the newsletter, column under "Solution Developer" at http://www.mcpmag.com/mcsdcentral/ .

Like I said, I'm no Joel, but maybe someone will find some of this stuff useful.

You might try my site - it focuses on usability, web design and various other topics related to development projects:
