oledb error on jos

so this site was down at least SQL server access. peer 1 rulez?

I think Joel just uses them for bandwidth, power, and rackspace.  His article goes into this in some detail. 

If you can get to the site to actually see an oledb error, that would seem to take Peer1 off the hook.

And those words tell me it's Joel's server.  Not peer1.  Unless I misunderstand how the hosting situation is set up.

The database server behind the discussion groups has not yet moved from the Fog Creek Office to the new Peer1 facility, although the web server has moved. So the error was probably caused by the office T1 being down again or just general internet routing issues. In a few days after th worlds' DNS servers have completely flushed, the database itself will move up to Peer 1.
