Told-You-So: Python 3000, Perl 6

Both Python 3000 and Perl 6 were planned to be complete rewrites of the respective languages.

What's with the Mascot RFC thing.  I perceived an implication that the Camel mascot has trademark problems (as in Camel cigarette).  That is way too funny if true.

Yeah, yeah, that's what's holding it up, its the dang camel. lol.

Seriously though, John, thanks for the link.  Some great stuff there that I did not know about.  Cool reading lies ahead for me.

I didn't realize that these extensive changes were taking place.  That's awful if a grant is not being renewed for Larry Wall.  Interesting developments.

To be honest, the main sticking point for me with Perl 6 is that it's such a radical break, I might as well learn another language...

And I'm saddened to hear Larry, who is the consumate Nice Guy of the free software world (the anti-Theo, if you will) is unwell and out of work.

The Camel problem is that ORA own the Camel mascot.  This could be seen as a bit of a problem.
