"4", with the condition that if you hit "Close", you will be asked whether you want to save your changes (assuming you made any) before the file is closed.

"Save and Close".

CityDesk has a "Save" item in the File menu. There is also a Ctrl+S shortcut for it.

97% of the time I want to close my document when I hit save in CityDesk.

However, here is a great example of why customizable toolbars are super-keen. That's what I'd REALLY want. I want to be able to remove the buttons I don't want, and add the ones I do.

"Which do you think would be more useable?" does not constitute a useability test. You really need to implement it both ways, ask a few people to use it, and watch them.

In useability, opinions without facts are generally worthless.

"In useability, opinions without facts are generally worthless."

Only in useability??  I thought that was pretty ubiquitous.

Nah, you forget: in politics opinions without facts are called govt. policy.

"Nah, you forget: in politics opinions without facts are called govt. policy."

Too true.  However, I would still file most government policy under "generally worthless." ;)
