ASP.Net Course

I am usually the type to self-teach myself everything in web-development; I have never taken a class on this stuff. But I've come to realize that I have some major gaps in my knowlege of programming fundamentals and would like to address them.

I have been playing around with ASP.net (using VB.net) and have decided I would like to take a course on the subject. But living in Sarasota, Florida has limited options.

I came across this course:
ASP.NET Programming Using Visual Basic.NET
It's 5 days long at a whopping $2295!

How long are these kinds of courses usually? Is the $2K on the hige end or about right. Is it better to go through a community college for a semester?

Finally, can any of you recommend good organizations that teach this subject?

Thanks.

I suspect that these courses don't really tell you anything more than you would learn spending the same time with a couple of books and doing your own thing. You'd also save $2k to spend on a shiny new XBox360/PS3 + games, or whatever.

I would say to hell with that if your not getting some sort of cert out of it.  You can find a good class for much cheaper, and for only 5 days, your paying them a boatload.

I took that course at Saint Petersburg college (spcollege.edu) in Clearwater, FL. I think it is nice to spread it out over a semester, and the $179.00 price tag (plus $40 lab fee) was much more attractive than $2000 +
